X-MEN Surprise For Shoppers In London

British tourism chiefs granted permission for images from the film X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST to be beamed onto the pedestrian diagonal crossing at Oxford Circus, where London’s famous shopping plaza is located.

The producers of the movie were naturally quite excited since the latest X-MEN is to be released to the general public this weekend (23-25May14).

The film starring Hugh Jackman is expected to be a major hit, packing out cinemas across Europe and America.  Because of the unique publicity it was given in London, the film is bound to be a complete success in the U.K.

Local officials have agreed to permit technicians to project moving visuals and 3D stills onto the hectic road crossing, for the first time since it was installed.  Projections will take place between 8.30pm and 11pm on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 May.

The ‘X’ at Oxford Circus will light up during the 18 seconds indicated crossing time in order to further support the new X-MEN.

David Shaw, head of the Regent Street Portfolio at The Crown Estate, says, “We are delighted to work with Twentieth Century Fox once again in what looks to be an exciting first for London’s West End.”

According to Hollywood Reporter, approximately 500,000 visitors pass through Regent Street and Oxford Street every day, making the Oxford Circus one of the busiest places in Europe.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is the seventh film in the X-Men film series and stars an ensemble cast, including Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult, Shawn Ashmore, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Peter Dinklage, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.
