X Factor’s Star Matt Cardle Postpones Concert Due To Rehab

Thousands of fans were disappointed to find out Matt Cardle’s concert in Somerset has been postponed. However, Matt had a valid excuse as he wants to give himself additional time to rehabilitate.

On 29 December, the winner of Britain’s The X Factor in 2010 checked into The Priory, a clinic in London, due to an addiction to treatment pills.

Reportedly he’s been using temazepam and Valium so he could cope with the stress of working on his last two albums, and dealing with the split from his record label Columbia records.

British pop star insisted on taking additional recovery time to prepare for a planned UK tour that’s been scheduled for 2014. He even sacrificed a performance at Bridgwater’s Blake Hall in Somerset on Saturday so he could be ready for the tour in time.

An announcement on Matt’s Facebook exclaimed, “As Matt is unable to perform this month, the Bridgewater gig is postponed… Right now he’s focusing on getting better. We all thank you for your patience and support.”

Dan Smith, the director of the company behind the concert, said, “I’ve been speaking to him, and he’s on the mend, and he definitely wants to do the show… He really wants to prove a point to people that he’s back to where he should be.”
