Simon Cowell Owes One To David Walliams

During the making of TV hit Britain’s Got Talent, funnyman David Walliams saved Simon Cowell, a music mogul, from choking.

The eighth season of the U.K. show begins on Saturday, April 12. The show features Walliams and Cowell, alongside Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon on the judging panel.

David has revealed he was urged to act while filming the show to rescue Simon, as he began to choke on a snack in between takes.

He told British talk show host Alan Carr,

“In the show I actually give Simon the Heimlich manoeuvre… He’s always eating something whilst the contestants come on. It’s normally orange pieces or mints and he choked on the mint and I actually saved his life and I do regret that!”

Amanda also said,

He (Cowell) was seriously choking and David came up behind him and dry humped him! He did the Heimlich manoeuvre.  It worked anyway!”

On February 7 2014, it was confirmed that Cowell will return to the UK version of The X Factor for series 11, replacing Gary Barlow. This resulted in the cancellation of the US version after three seasons by Fox.

In October 2010, Cowell renewed a three-year deal with ITV for both Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor. On November 15 2013, the three-year deal was extended by a further three years, keeping it on air until 2016.
