One Direction In Charity Soccer Match



One Direction star Niall Horan will host a charity soccer match in May 2014. Participants will include his bandmates Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne.

Horan himself won’t be able to plat due to a knee surgery in January, so he will serve as a manager to all-star team that consists of One Direction singers and other celebrities.

The match will take place in Leicester, England, on May 26, with the purpose of raising money for an autism charity.

The Irish singer took to to write about it,

“Doin (sic) a charity football game at Leicester City’s stadium on the 26th of May, Louis and Liam are on my team, I’ll be the manager!… Big names involved! In aid of Irish autism (charity)!…Can’t wait for the game! Gona (going to) be great! Make sure ya (you) get ur (your) tickets!”

His team also features veteran legend in the music industry, Rod Stewart, and British pop singer Olly Murs, and a former Boy zone star Keith Duffy.

They will try to beat a team assembled by former U.K. soccer star Robbie Savage. The full line-up will be announced later in April.

The money raised from tickets sales will be donated to autism charities Irish Autism Action and U.K. Hearts And Minds Challenge.

Tomlinson himself had previous experiences with several charity soccer matches. He also landed a deal with English club Doncaster Rovers.
