Norwood’s Drug Scandal Got Him Suspended From EastEnders

British actor Ricky Norwood has now been suspended from the popular U.K. soap EastEnders after his recent drug incident.

The actor who plays Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb on this hit long running series, had to defend himself before BBC executives on March 24th, after he was recorded smoking weed during a Skype conversation he had.

Before the meeting, an EastEnders spokeswoman said. “We will be meeting with Ricky early next week to discuss this matter. We are unable to comment any further at this stage.”

As reported, he also exposed his habits in the Internet video. The video is thought to have been filmed by a woman that the 28-year-old met online. Talk about the perks of internet dating.

The show’s executives had no mercy for his habits and have now decided to suspend him for two whole months from the series.

“Ricky Norwood has been suspended from the show for a period of two months with immediate effect.”

“In addition, Ricky would like to apologise to EastEnders’ viewers for any offence caused and for bringing the show into disrepute,” read the statement from the spokesman of the series.

The 28 year old actor is also known for have been dating Sugababes star Jade Ewen.

Norwood joined the Eastenders cast in 2010 and won Best Newcomer at the Inside Soap Awards the same year.

In the following year he also won the award at the 2011 National Television Awards.
