New Sherlock To Be Full Of Surprises, Reveals Martin Freeman



Martin Freemen won the award for outstanding supporting actor in a miniseries or a movie for his role as Dr. John Watson in the hit series Sherlock at the Emmy’s earlier this week.

The famous Hobbit star was also nominated for outstanding lead actor in a miniseries or a movie for his role in the TV adaptation of Fargo, but didn’t attend the Emmys because he had not expected to win in any category.

Sherlock actually won a total of three Emmys.  Apart from Freeman’s award, BenedictCumberbatch received an award for outstanding lead actor in a miniseries and StevenMoffat for outstanding writing in a miniseries.

Martin said:

It keeps going from strength to strength really, we’re all very proud of it, we’re all very pleased to be in it and involved in it, I think as a nation it’s one of the UK’s finest exports.

In addition, Martin revealed that the next season of Sherlock will be full of surprises and “so exciting”.In an interview with BBC Radio Wales, the actor said that he has been told a bit about the fourth series.

It’s going to be full of surprises for you, and for us and for everybody.  I think we just know to expect the unexpected now.  What has been explained to me and Ben [Cumberbatch] and Amanda Abbington – my missus who plays Mary – has been very exciting. The plans they have got for the overarching series – oh man, it’s just so exciting!
