The 35-year-old former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton has revealed that she is recovering from a full hysterectomy and although she is in pain, the brave star can’t wait to get back to work.

After discovering that she carried a mutated BRA2 gene, meaning she had an 80 per cent chance of getting breast cancer and a 30 per cent chance of getting ovarian cancer, Michelle decided to undergo drastic surgery and minimize her chances of developing cancer.

Firstly, Michelle had a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction surgery and then a full hysterectomy, according to OK! magazine.  She opened up to the mag and said that she made the tough decision because she didn’t want her two kids to grow up without a mom.

“I’m in a lot of pain and I can’t hold my children, but I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself. I realize what I’ve done is for my husband and my children so that they’re never wifeless and motherless.”

Michelle thanked her supporting fans on Twitter today.
