Ejiofor And Gwyneth To Star In The Secret In Their Eyes



Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor and his colleague Gwyneth Paltrow will star in a remake of Oscar-winning Argentinian movie The Secret in Their Eyes.

‘The 12 Years a Slave’ star landed the lead role in the crime thriller as a former British intelligence agent, who goes to Boston, Massachusetts to help a team of FBI agents who are investigating an unsolved murder.

Screenwriter Billy Ray will direct the Hollywood remake from his own script, based on Juan Jose Campanella’s original, better known as El Secreto De Sus Ojos. It claimed the best Foreign Language Film honour at the 2010 Academy Awards.

The production is set to kick off in Boston this autumn.

The Secret In Their Eyes joins a host of other IM Global titles including Forsaken from Gravity co-writer Jonas Cuaron.

Formerly known as Desierto, the thriller stars Gael García Bernal and Jeffrey Dean Morgan and is co-written by Cuaron and Mateo Garcia. The story surrounds a group of illegal immigrants cross into the U.S. and end up running from an American who has taken border patrol into his own hands.
Cuarón is producing as are Alfonso Cuarón, Carlos Cuarón, Charles Gillibert, and Alex Garcia.

David Linde, García Bernal, Fréderique Dumas-Zajdela, Nicolás Celis, and Santiago García Galván will serve as executive producers. Other major pre-sales titles include Jackie Chan action movie Civilian, directed by Peter Segal and Canadian helmer Atom Egoyan’s thriller Remember with Christopher Plummer.
