David Beckham Struggles With Only Fools And Horses Script

Retired soccer star David Beckham admittedly struggled to learn his lines for the UK sitcom Only Fools and Horses that is set to make a comeback this year.

The sports icon is about to join the old crew of the cult TV show, including Sir David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst, but it seems he suffered a sleepless night before filming an outline for Britain’s Sport Relief charity telethon.

He apparently had difficulties with the script the night before the shoot despite being a huge fan of the original comedy show, which ended more than ten years ago.

Beckham told Radio Times, “The day of filming started off with a slightly sleepless night, going over my script. The thought of being on set with Nicholas and David was obviously very nerve-racking. I woke up that morning with my script on my chest.”

“I’ve never done anything like this before, especially with two people I’m really in awe of and have been for many years. It wasn’t just about learning the script; it was about delivering it; saying the right things at the right time.”

The show ran from 1981 to 2003 and is considered to be one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. The sketch is scheduled to be aired on 21 March.
