Comedian Freddie Starr Arrested A Fourth Time

Legendary comedian Freddie Starr was arrested again, for the second time in the last month, and the fourth time overall. We think he’s started to enjoy it.

What Starr thought would be a usual day turned into his fourth arrest over sex offence claims. Namely, the famous comedian went to a police station today to answer on a previous bail, when he ended up arrested for further claims under Operation Yewtree. The inquiry was launched after the serial paedophilia claims against Sir Jimmy Savile emerged.

Scotland Yard said, “The arrest relates to further allegations made to Operation Yewtree, which falls under the strand of the investigation we have termed ‘others’. We are not prepared to discuss further.”

Just for clarification, the wide-ranging investigation is divided into three sections, claims involving Savile, those involving Savile and others, and those involving others. Freddie falls under the third section.

However, his first arrest related to Operation Yewtree was in 2012, but he was arrested again last month. Freddie denies any wrongdoing.

The 71-year old comedian has been released on bail until April. Starr’s lawyer said the entertainer hopes to soon be able to clear his name.
