Coldplay’s New Album Climbs Charts Quickly

Even though Coldplay’s newest album has received some mixed reviews from critics, the fans are still buying it. According to reports, the new album Ghost Stories is set to become the fastest selling album on the UK charts of the year. On the first day alone, the album has sold 82,000 copies and it has topped the charts in over 70 countries around the world.

If it makes it to the number one spot of the UK charts this week, which it probably will, this will be the sixth album in a row released by the band to make it to number one in the UK.

The band’s debut album was naturally the first one to hit the number one spot, putting the band on the charts for the first time 14 years ago.

Officials of the band said that the UK notices whenever Coldplay releases a new album, and Ghost Stories is no exception. The band is thrilled by the first day sales figures and stated that it is even more incredible considering the fact that this is the first released by the band in almost four years.

Coldplay will no doubt long a massive world tour in promotion of the album. The band has already announced that it will play a show at the Royal Albert Hall in London on July 1. The band will also headline Radio 1’s Big Weekend Show in Glasgow on May 24.
