Broadchurch Leads RTS Awards With Four Top Nominations



British crime drama Broadchurch scored four top nominations for the UK’s Royal Television Society Programme Awards.  Many are predicting the hit series will be the definite winner of the Awards ceremony that’s scheduled on 18 March, in London.

The mystery series, nominated in the Drama Serial category, spins around a child’s death in a small coastal town featuring David Tennant and Olivia Colman as detectives. Zombie show In The Flesh and Top of the Lake by Elisabeth Moss were also nominated in the category.

Olivia Colman will face Jodie Whittaker in the Actor-Female category along with Sharon Rooney from My Mad Fat Diary and Chris Chibnall.

Idris Elba, who portrayed a troubled cop in Luther, will go against Stephen Dillane and Lennie James from The Tunnel and Run respectively, for the Actor- Male category.

Burton and Taylor, played by Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West, received a nomination in the Single Drama line-up, and are facing Our Girl and The Challenger in the same category.
