BRIT Awards Winner Sam Smith Tops UK Charts



Last week was a huge chart boost for singer Sam Smith after he received the BRIT award on Wednesday. His song “Money On My Mind” topped the number one spot in the UK charts.

Sam received the Critics’ Choice Award at the ceremony last week that led him to increased sales, and he pushed Clear Bandit from the top to third place where he was for the last four consecutive weeks. In an interview with about the success of “Money on My Mind”, Smith said, “It feels unbelievable, man! It’s completely overwhelming and I don’t actually know what to do with myself! It feels amazing.”

Catchy hit “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, who also performed at the BRIT Awards, climbed up to second place, while Christina Aguilera and her “Say Something” duet landed at number four.

Zedd and Paramore’s Hayley Williams rounded this week’s top five with their hit “Stay The Night”.

BRIT Awards winners Bastille grabbed the number one spot in the Official UK Albums Chart with their album Bad Blood, while Arctic Monkeys returned to the top three, landing at second place with their BRIT Album of the Year, titled AM.
