Bar Refaeli Uses Pricey Gold For Facial

Beautiful supermodel Bar Refaeli, in a desire to preserve her exotic looks, goes for a 24-carat liquid gold facial treatment.

The 28-year old model wanted to try the new anti-age beauty facial treatment. This super-expensive facial is becoming very popular among the rich and famous.

The supermodel posted a photo on her Instagram profile showing the gold dripping from her face.

According to, The gold Bee Venom Facial costs $1,600 (£1,000). Not much for a supermodel who needs to maintain her beauty.

Refaeli is known for being prone to trying new and pampering procedures. In December 2013, she received a vampire facial. It consists of drawing blood out of the skin before a massage and then massaging it back to help tackle wrinkles.

The high-end facial is said to give the skin a radiant glow and the gold is said to retain moisture in the skin, increase flexibility and smoothness, slow down collagen depletion, as well as prevent sagging skin.

Gold facials are also believed to prevent premature aging.

But do they actually work and are they worth the price celebrities are paying for it?

Dr. Jeannette Graf, a dermatologist in Great Neck, N.Y, told the New York Times, “There are absolutely no scientific studies that show that gold has any effect in firming or revitalizing the skin, nor that it reduces wrinkles or gives skin a plumped, golden glow.”
