Since their days as PJ and Duncan on the hit children’s TV series Byker Grove, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have come a very long way. In fact, this duo has gone from being a couple of child actors to becoming a national institution in Britain.

Over the past couple of decades, Ant and Dec have become a dream-team that has managed to notch up one success after another – not to mention an impressive clutch of awards.

1. Byker Grove

When the two boys took on their roles in this series, nobody had ever heard of Ant and Dec – or PJ and Duncan for that matter. However, their characters quickly became firm favourites, giving them the springboard they needed to catapult them to stardom.

2. Music

After leaving Byker Grove, the pair continued to be known as PJ and Duncan. It was as PJ and Duncan they released the single “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble” which became a huge hit and is still loved by millions today.

3. Saturday Night Takeaway

One of the shows the dream-team has had a huge success with over recent years is Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. This is classic Saturday evening television that can be enjoyed by the whole family, and has that added unique touch that only Ant & Dec can bring.

3. I’m a Celebrity

This show is definitely one of their biggest successes. As presenters of the main show I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here, Ant & Dec have kept millions of viewers glued to their sets as they encourage desperate celebrity contestants to undertake the most horrific tasks.

5. Britain’s Got Talent

This is another one of the duo’s big success, and as presenters of this already popular show they manage to add an extra spark that keeps viewers tuning in week after week.

6. Alien Autopsy

Although not their greatest achievement, many will also remember this duo’s starring roles in the comedy sci-fi movie Alien Autopsy. The movie was made in 2006 and managed to reach number 3 on the British box office.
