British rock music has had the biggest impact on the development of rock music worldwide. What’s more, British rock has produced some of the best musicians in the history of music, and also contributed to many other genres such as indie rock, punk and even metal. We’re bringing you 14 legends of British rock.

1. David Bowie

Bowie is one of rock’s essential style icons and visionaries who focused mostly on exploring glam rock, synthesisers and cocaine. He became famous for his tale of Ziggy Stardust, but also for many other of his songs such as Space Oddity and Heroes. Despite being 56, he looks better than he did at the beginning of his career.

2. John Lennon

Founder of the highly significant and the most successful band in the history of popular music, Lennon is considered to be one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. Along with Paul McCartney, he formed the Beatles in the 60s, and was ranked eighth on the list of 100 Greatest Britons by BBC.

3. Mick Jagger

Jagger was best known as the lead singer and the founding member of the Rolling Stones. He’s one of the oldest rockers out there with a career that spans over 50 years. In 2003, he was knighted for his contribution to music. When teamed up with Keith Richards, they make the greatest duo in history.
